Job Description

Support the DD Tourism in the leadership of the Regional Tourism to meet its strategic and operational targets.

Provide strategic and marketing oversight, guidance and support for the Tourism and Events team to enable them to deliver key initiatives

Oversee Tourism and Events functionally, including human and financial resources and achievement of agreed operational targets.

Provide leadership, direction and a supportive environment for team members including ensuring all problems or complaints from staff are addressed in a timely manner and seek advice when appropriate.

Support the continued implementation Strategy and development of other operational plans including the annual Statement of Intent and Year in Review documents.

Supervise Resort and Hospitality Manager to achieve their monthly and annually targets. 

Oversee effective communication strategies to stakeholders, staff, and community.

Ensure team members have a clear expectation of their position and key performance indicators.

Provide accurate and timely reports, written and verbal presentation, as required.

Ensure compliance with all funding agreements with Government and other agencies.

Monitor compliance with relevant codes, industry standards, legal requirements for all projects and services.

Oversee day-to-day operations.

Design strategy and set goals for growth.

Maintain budgets and optimize expenses.

Set policies and processes.

Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.

Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.

Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.

Direct the employee assessment process.

Prepare regular reports for upper management.

Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations.

Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).

Degree Qualification

Masters / Bachelors in Hospitality Management/ Business Administration or relevant field Preferably Certification in Tourism/ Hospitality

Degree Required

BS in Hospitality Management / MS in Hospitality Management / MBA / BBA / Diploma in Hospitality / Certification in Hospitality / Certification in Tourism

Experience

Min 3 - 6 years post qualification experience in the relevant field.
