Senior Geologist

Job Description

1.           The Senior Geologist shall assist the Director in providing geoscientific data, and compiling briefs and geological reports, and ensuring the orderly exploration and exploitation of the mineral resources through regulation of exploration, mining and processing operations.

2.            Ensure that all exploitation operations maintain up to date with respect to resource and reserve estimates.

3.            Responsible to promote the development and minerals resources to generate wealth for the benefit of company.

4.            The Senior Geologist will be responsible for supervision and training of geology section staff.

5.            Ensuring that all reports and technical data are maintained in an archive.

6.            Have prior experience at working in open pit mines with a good knowledge of ore control practices in a narrow vein orogenic geological environment.

7.            U/G mining experience is also desirable but not essential.

8.            Other such duties that may be necessary for the orderly running of the geology section.

9.            Responsible to preparation of technical bidding documents, contract management and technical geological proposal for mineral exploration.
